Princeton Joint Unified School District

Athletics

As a member of the Northern Section of the California Interscholastic Federation, Princeton High School believes that a broad program of interscholastic athletics contributes to the development of our students. Among these values are:
  • Development of scholarship, health, strength, agility, coordination skills, recreational interests, physical fitness and habits of clean living.
  • Instill the concepts of sportsmanship, fair play, honesty and respect for rules and authority.
  • Development of qualities of cooperation, teamwork, competition, leadership, initiative, responsibility, subordination of self to the welfare of the team and school, self-respect, courtesy for others, perseverance and courage.

It must be emphasized that these values can be assured only when competition is controlled under rules, policies and leadership, which place the realization of such values and that of scholastic attainment above all other considerations.
